Performance wise, the Joyetech Cuboid Mini has quickly become one of my personal favorite kits and I've been using it on a regular basis for the last week and a half. I tried fiddling with the RBA base and also with the 0.5 Ohm coil, but found the NotchCoil to be more than satisfying. Flavor is super intense, vapor production is just amazing and temperature control works like a charm. In my opinion it's one of the best kits at the moment and if you don't mind the internal battery and the Cubis style tank then I would suggest going for it. You can also enjoy a decent mouth to lung experience on it, so it's also a nice combo for beginners.
I didn't get a chance to review the original Cuboid, but I wanted to make it up to you and talk a bit about Joyetech's brand new toy – a device that's probably going to enjoy the same popularity as its bigger brother. This seems to be more of an All-In-One type of device due to the shape of the tank, but it has the same features as the original model, apart from the massive power output.
The Joyetech Cuboid Mini is a very stylish and great preforming box mod kit that comes with a cool rectangular tank especially designed for it and with a revolutionary new type of coil that I've also seen and enjoyed on the Theorem. The device comes packed in a white cardboard box and inside you'll find the mod itself, the tank fitted with the 0.25 Ohm Notch Coil, a spare SS 0.5 Ohm coil, a spare 1.5 Ohm Clapton coil (for MTL vaping), a rebuildable RBA style type of coil, a spare drip tip, a micro-USB charging cable (also used for firmware upgrades), a small Allen key and screws for adjusting the tank to sit flush, and a manual & warranty card.
The kit comes in five different colors – stainless, white, gray, gold and black – and it's made from stainless steel with a glossy black screen protection on the front of the mod. It's has a very 'business person' look to it, it's very sleek and it's fully rectangular. The materials used and build quality are top notch and there's absolutely no rattle with this kit. I like the way it feels in the hand and to me the positioning of the fire button and the adjustment buttons is just perfect.
Unlike its older brother, the Joyetech Cuboid Mini is powered by an internal 2400mAh Li-Po battery and it can reach a maximum of 80W. It measures (with the tank on) around 125 x 35.5 x 22.5 mm and it can work in variable wattage mode, temperature control mode as well as bypass mode (the same way as a mech mod but with all of the integrated safety features). In variable wattage mode it goes from 1W – 80W in 0.1W increments with a minimum resistance of 0.1 Ohms, while in in temperature control mode it does Nickel, Titanium and Stainless Steel (200-600 F / 100-315C) with a minimum resistance of 0.05 Ohms.
The device has a stainless steel 510 connector on top with a spring loaded pin (but I'm pretty sure most people are only going to use it with the supplied tank), a micro-USB port on one side and the firing button on the other, the display and adjustment buttons on the face and some venting holes as well as a reset button on the base. The tank integrates the same technology as on the Cubis or the AIO but this time can hold an impressive 5ml of e-liquid. Basically the coil is mounted to the top cap of the tank, making it leak free. You can use a wide range of coils with the Joyetech Cuboid Mini like the Ni200 – 0.2 Ohm and the Ti – 0.4 Ohm, the SS 0.5 Ohm, 0.6 Ohm, 1.0 Ohm, and 1.5 Ohm Clapton, the RBA base with the vertical coil but I found the new 0.25 Ohm NotchCoil to be my personal favorite. This is an atomizer head designed by Joyetech and it's absolutely revolutionary in terms of vapor production and flavor.
The tank also comes with two screws and an Allen key which allows you to adjust it into place if it ever sits o bit off the mod or you may want to use it on top of another device. You simply have to loosen the screws, make it flush and then tighten them up again for a perfect fit. It also has an adjustable airflow mechanism on the top.
I forgot to mention that you also have three different TCR presets for other materials to use in temperature control mode with the mod and this is always an extra thumbs up in my book.
