SMOK have released a couple of brand new starter kits and they are just awesome. We had time to test the SMOK Majesty 225W TC kit for the last couple of weeks and it's been hitting like a locomotive. It comes in a variety of new colors and carbon fiber or resin finish. The resin versions are a bit more expensive, but they are one of a kind. The kit includes a SMOK TFV8 X-Baby Beast tank and this pairs perfectly with the mod's output power.
Nice looks, beautiful colors
Great tank
Upgradeable firmware
The resin version is $10 extra
Simple box, great contents
The SMOK Majesty 225W TC kit comes packed in a standard cardboard gift box. Inside you will find the mod itself, the tank, micro-USB charging cable and lots of goodies. You get two types of atomizers for the X-Baby: a 0.4 Ohm Q2 and a 0.4 Ohm T6 atomizer. You also get a spare glass tube and spare O-rings.
Design and colors
The mod measures 85mm x 64mm x 30.5mm and weighs little over 160g without any batteries. The size is pretty average for a dual 18650 device but the colors and finish are outstanding. Carbon fiber versions include Blue, Red, Purple and Black and the fiber is real. Resin versions include Green, Purple, Yellow and Blue and look like true works of art. The build quality and attention to details is quite remarkable and it's what makes SMOK one of the industry leaders. On top of the SMOK Majesty 225W TC we have a spring loaded 510 connector. This can accommodate atomizers up to 25mm without any overhang. The fire bar is on the right side, while the display, adjustment buttons and micro-USB port are on the face of the mod. Battery door is located on the base and has that nice bottom latch mechanism.
The display is one of the best we've seen
The 1-inch colorful OLED display is one of the main attractions of this device. The user interface has been upgraded and looks amazing. Navigation through the menu is simple, easy to understand and very intuitive most of the time. The SMOK Majesty 225W TC goes from 6 to 225W in regular power mode and features temperature control for Nickel, Titanium and Stainless Steel, as well as TCR. It has a very responsive chip and the mod is comfortable and easy to use. The side placed fire key works like a charm and the squeeze to fire operation is simple to get used to. The 225W might not be as powerful as the Wismec Luxotic NC vape but definitely has the upper advantage in terms of looks, responsiveness and display.
TFV8-X Baby Beast tank is an excellent match
The TFV8-X Baby Beast tank you get with this kit is an excellent match for the mod. With a diameter of 24.5mm and a capacity of 4.0ml of juice this is the ideal tool for flavor and really big clouds. Comes with a hinge and lock top fill mechanism as well as dual adjustable top airflow. For European vapers there's a 2ml version of this tank.
SMOK Majesty: Performance and conclusions
When it comes to performance the SMOK Majesty 225W TC kit clearly does not disappoint. It has an improved user interface and display over the older SMOK devices and performance is better than ever. It doesn't rattle, has upgrade able firmware and the board is very responsive. The tank delivers impressive clouds and flavor and it makes this one of the best vape mod kits we tried in 2018. The resin version costs $10 more, but it's totally worth it. The finish is beautiful and each design is one of a kind.
