When we first received the REV Sport 101W TC we thought it was a bit gimmicky. Mainly because it came with interchangeable grills inspired from different car brands and the display looked like a tachometer. However, after testing it for over a week we were quite impressed with the performance and ergonomics. It’s a really cool mid-range box mod with a built-in battery and comprehensive menu system.
Great ergonomics
Powerful built-in battery
Complex menu system
Color OLED display
A bit too gimmicky
Moderate output
A bit pricey for what it has to offer
What comes with the REV Sport 101W TC
Like so many products from the same category, you will get the REV Sport 101W TC mod in a black cardboard presentation box. Besides the device itself, it comes with a rubber keychain, two spare interchangeable grills, and USB cable and the user manual.
It’s pretty basic, but considering it comes with an internal battery, it’s still a good deal.
When it comes to colors, there are three options to choose from: Red, Light Blue, and Black.
A box mod with a unique design
The REV Sport 101W TC vape has a pretty unique design. It clearly got its inspiration from sports cars and the ergonomics are very good. It fits in your hand perfectly and has plenty of grip. Button placement feels natural and and the build quality is solid. It measures 88mm x 44mm x 31mm and has just the right amount of weight to it.
On top we have a spring loaded 510 connector which takes atomizers up to 24mm in diameter. On the front we have the grill section, which is held in place by magnets as well as the color OLED display. The fire button, adjustment buttons and micro-USB slot are placed on the side and there’s even a small LED notification light for charging purposes.
There are a few venting holes on the other side and the battery is non-removable.
The menu and features
To power on the REV Sport 101W TC box mod you need to press the fire button for five consecutive times. Now is when the device asks you if you want to use it in basic user mode or advanced user mode.
Basic user mode will let you adjust the output wattage and some features about the interface and display. Advanced mode on the other hand is where you can choose from variable wattage, temp control, TCR or Bypass. Here you can edit all the settings and adjust the vape to your personal preference. You can even select between three types of stainless steel wire, Celsius or Fahrenheit and set a pre-heat value.
The menu system is pretty intuitive once you get the hand of it, and it’s one of the most complex we used so far. The device is powered by an 4200mAh internal battery and that’s more than enough to last you a full day. Output can be set between 5W - 101W and it should be fine for most mid-range users or vaping beginners.
We like the OLED display and all the customizations, but unfortunately you cannot see it while taking a puff. The tachometer changes to an analog clock after a few seconds and you can set for how long it should stay on.
REV Sport 101W TC performance and overall thoughts
The REV Sport 101W TC mod is a solid performer and it’s perfect for mid-range vapers. It offers solid battery life, a complex menu system as well as a color OLED display.
It had the same inspiration as the GTRS VAPE VBOY mod, but it’s not as powerful or as accurate. We’re not exactly sure why they wanted to have 101W instead of the usual 100, but that’s more of a subjective con. Also we’re not big fans of the design and colors, especially with those Mercedes and BMW inspired grills.
Other than that, the device vapes great, feels nice in the hand and we really like the user interface.
