One of the most iconic vape mods of 2016 is back and comes with a couple of design and performance upgrades. The Limitless Box Mod V2 220W TC is a bit shorter than its predecessor but thicker and features the most incredible resin side panels. The chipset also had a power boost to 220W, however the menu and user interface remained unchanged.
Awesome build quality
Responsive chip
Very nice resin panelsÂ
Adjustment of wattage and temperature are rather complicatedÂ
Not that many improvements over the initial version
No micro-USB slot
Packaging and available Limitless mod colors
The Limitless Box Mod V2 220W TC doesn't come with accessories. As a matter of fact it doesn't even come with the highly popular micro-USB cable, since it doesn't carry a charging or upgrades port. You only get the mod itself and some instructions.
There are two color options available for the device: bronze and stainless steel. Also there are three types of panels to choose from – Lava Flow, Ooze and Coral Reef.
Design, features and how it compares to the original LMC 200W
Compared to the original LMC 200W the Limitless Box Mod V2 220W TC is shorter but thicker. It measures 70mm x 52mm x 29mm and you can now use it with atomizer up to 28mm without overhang. It feels nice in the hand and the materials used are of premium quality. Has a reasonable amount of weight to it and it's really sturdy.
On top we have a spring loaded 510 connector made from stainless steel. We then have an angled section with the Limitless logo and on the main side we see the power button, display and two adjustment buttons. The mod keeps that mirror finish on the display panel and that's something we don't necessarily like. It turns it into the most annoying fingerprint magnet which you constantly need to wipe off with a piece of cloth.
There is no micro-USB slot on this mod and to access the battery compartment you need to pull out the right side panel. This is held in place with magnets and doesn't feature any rattle. The mod takes two high drain 18650 batteries with the polarities clearly indicated on the plastic shell.
The resin side panels are a thing of beauty
Just like on the original LMC 200W, the side panels are removable and swap-able. With the Limitless Box Mod V2 220W TC we have three types of resin swirl designs, each more beautiful and more appealing than the other. These complement the two main colors – bronze and stainless steel – perfectly and account for an incredible overall visual feedback.
These panels make this brand new vape mod seem like a true work of art and it's something we really like. It's one of the most beautiful vapes we ever got the chance to play with.
The proprietary chip and user interface
We really hoped for a simpler user interface, but looks like Limitless decided to stick with their initial user interface. This means you can only adjust the wattage of the memory presets and the type of output – standard, power and soft.
The Limitless Box Mod V2 220W TC also features temperature control for Nickel, Titanium and Stainless Steel and resistance range is between 0.08 Ohm – 5.0 Ohms. Output power has a noticeable boost from 5W – 220W. You can adjust the wattage for each of the temperature presets and they range from 200F – 580F.
Mod performance and my overall thoughts on the Limitless mod
Performance on the Limitless Box Mod V2 220W TC is quite impressive. The chip is very responsive and hits like a locomotive. There are several wattage and temperature user defined presets as well as three fixed power curves. We didn't have any issues with any of the atomizers we tested and we mostly used the Recoil Rebel RDA with this bad boy.
The mod looks really good with those resin panels and has quite the sturdiness due to its metallic body. If you're OK with the user interface and tricky menu system then you will definitely see an improvement over the initial LMC 200W. It's the type of device we recommend to intermediate and advanced users.
