This company has really impressed us with its latest devices and the Apollo CTRL 80W is by far one of our favorite mods. Short for "Control", this bad boy comes with a very neat design and super easy to use. Also considering it can output 80W form a single 18650 battery, the board is very precise and powerful.
What makes this mod different
And yes, the market is saturated with single 18650 box mods that deliver between 70-80W, so what makes this one special? Well its ultra-portable size and ergonomic shape make it accessible to a wide range of vapers and the experience it offers is just top notch.
The Apollo CTRL 80W comes packed in a standard white cardboard box and inside you will find the device itself, a micro-USB cable and the user manual. You will have to purchase the 18650 battery separately if you don't have one already lying around the desk. Because it's a powerful mod, the battery needs to have a discharge rate of 30A and we recommend a top brand like Sony or LG.
Design and main features
On the top of the Apollo CTRL 80W there's a very solid spring loaded 510 connector with radial slots for bottom airflow tanks. On the main side we have the round fire button, the display, adjustment buttons and micro-USB slot. The base of the mod only has venting holes for the battery, and to access the door you will need to pull the back cover, which is magnetic.
The mod itself is very well built, with attention to details. We really enjoyed the brushed metallic body with black rubberized accents. This enhances grip and gives a very luxurious hand feel. Button placement is also super handy and the device feels perfectly balanced with a battery inside.
Great build quality as always
We were big fans of the Reliant mod and the Apollo CTRL 80W is a step in the right direction. You can 
use the device in variable wattage as well as temperature control modes and after reading the manual you'll find the menu system and settings easy to use. It also features USB pass-through, which allows you to still vape when charging the battery.
The ideal tank to use with this particular mod is Apollo's Phazer, but you can use any atomizer as long as the resistance is not lower than 0.2 Ohms. Depending on the type of battery and the coil you use, you can get up to a full day of use from the Apollo CTRL 80W. We used it with a 0.4 Ohm coil at 40W and got just under 5h of usage, with pretty frequent puffing.
