Charon Mini vape: Packaging and available colors

Like all Smoant products the Charon Mini 225W is nicely packed inside a cardboard presentation box with a big picture of the device on top. As you open the packaging you will find the mod itself, a micro-USB cable, the user manual and warranty card.

Available colors for this bad boy are: Black, Red, Gold and Rainbow.

The design of the Charon Mini

This petite dual 18650 box mod measures 89mm x 45mm x 29mm and weighs little under 160g without the batteries. The design is original and the build quality is quite impressive for a device that costs $60. On top we have a spring loaded 510 connector surrounded by a platform that's able to accommodate atomizers up to 25mm with no overhang.

The TFT display is clearly the star of the show and it measures 2.0 inches. It is a fingerprint magnet, but he colors and animations will blow you away. Just below the screen we have the two up/down buttons as well as the micro-USB slot.

The oversized fired button is placed on the side and has a nice tactile feel to it. On the back we have the battery panel, which is held in place by three strong magnets. The mod does not rattle and feels very nice in the hand.

The user interface and the ANT225 chip

Two of the biggest selling points of the Smoant Charon Mini 225W TC have to be its display and user interface. The animation with the two cogs is really impressive and the analog clock screen saver is another big pro. The speedometer is something we first saw on the Cylon and we absolutely love the way the indicator goes up each time you press the fire button.

To access the menu just click the button three times and from here you can fully customize the UI. There are two types of interfaces – the speedometer or wallpaper – and the device looks stunning either way.

The ANT225 chip has been developed by Smoant and it's one of the fastest and most accurate mid-range boards. It features variable wattage from 1 – 225W in 0.1W increments as well as temperature control presets for Nickel, Titanium and Stainless Steel. There's also a TCR option for various other materials and different pre-heat settings. You can also adjust the power or temperature curves and the wattage is fully adjustable in TC mode.

The board also comes with numerous safety features like low voltage protection, reverse polarity protection, over-current protection, over heating protection and short circuit protection.

All in all it's huge step up from the entry level Battlestar Mini mod .

Performance and final words on the Charon Mini vape

The Smoant Charon Mini is one of the best mods from the company and their newest flagship. It comes with one of the most beautiful displays you'll ever find on a vape and the user interface is exceptionally designed. The device is fully customizable, accurate and takes two high drain 18650 batteries. It's easy to use, intuitive and hits like a true powerhouse.

The only con we found with it is that the display is a real fingerprint magnet. You will constantly need to wipe it with a piece of cloth, especially when you're outside.
