The device is made from a very solid metal alloy with a satin finish and some streamlines that resemble the D3 but with a bigger form factor due to the dual battery setup. Materials used are high quality and everything fits together just perfectly without any sort of rattle. It has a spring loaded 510 connector on the top and going down the main side we see the fire button, the bright display, the two adjustment buttons and the micro-USB port. On the base there are some venting holes for the batteries, and the battery door is located on the face of the mod and it slides downwards. It is held in place by three very powerful magnets and it has a plastic film on the interior to prevent any short circuit with cells that have a deteriorated wrap.
The Pioneer4You IPV5 is powered by two high drain 18650 batteries (sold separately) and it works in variable wattage mode as well as temperature control mode (in Joules). In temperature control mode you can choose between Nickel, Titanium and Stainless Steel and after reading, adjusting (depending on the case) and locking the resistance and temperature you can bump the Joules up or down depending on your personal preference. This is a bit different than on regular devices that let you adjust the temperature but it's something you can get accustomed to quite easily.
In variable wattage mode the device can go from 10W all the way up to 200W and it can fire as low as 0.15 Ohms. It has five different user programmable memory slots (which you can set for your various tanks or RDAs) and the performance is just incredible.
There is one issue with the Pioneer4You IPV5 that needs to be mentioned and that's the fact that on some models there's a small problem with the wattage in the sense that it gets stuck to a maximum of 75W. In this case you need to put it in Titanium mode and hit it up to 120 Joules (you have 100 Joules maximum for Ni and SS but in Ti it goes all the way up to 120) and only then go into power mode where you will be able to reach the full 200W. I'm not particularly sure why you have to do this but it's something worth pointing out.
In terms of experience and performance the Pioneer4You IPV5 has been mode than satisfying and it hits like a massive powerhouse. It's way bigger than the D3 but it feels nice in the hand and seems indestructible. Match this with an equally powerful RTA like the Moonshot from Sigelei or tank like the Herakles Plus and you'll be surprised by the vapor production. All in all a very good buy and a mod that will certainly last for years.
