Lost Vape Orion Plus review - Great all in one kit with excellent coils

What you will find in the Orion Plus box

The Orion Plus vape kit comes in a very nice yellow cardboard presentation box with a picture of the mod on top. Inside you will find the device itself, a micro-USB charging cable, a lanyard, a spare coil as well as the user manual and warranty card.

In terms of colors there are 15 options to choose from and the stabwood combined with resin series are our absolute favorites. You can also get the device in textured carbon fiber or abalone, much like on the original Orion DNA Go.

Design of the Lost Vape Orion Plus mod

The Lost Vape Orion Plus mod is one of the most beautiful vapes we’ve tested this years. It looks beautiful and feels perfectly balanced in the hand. The build quality is more than impressive and it’s made from metal with stabilized wood and resin panels.

The vape measures 93mm x 37mm x 13.5mm and weighs little under 90 grams. It’s an all-in-one type of mod but with a detachable cartridge as well as swap-able coils.

The fire button, notification light and adjustment button are all placed on the main side, together with the slide button for detaching the cartridge. The micro-USB slot is positioned on the edge of the base and it’s protected by a hinged metallic cap.

Orion Plus features

The Orion Plus mod is powered by an upgraded version of the same great DNA Go Chip. This means it features upgradeble firmware like its predecessors, as well as lightning fast response times and functionality.

There are 5 different power levels for each coil, and all of them are signaled by an individual LED color. The device also has a patented temperature limiting technology to prevent dry hits and automatically regulates power.

When using the 0.25 Ohm coil you can select from 13W – White, 15W – Blue, 18W – Red, 20W – Yellow, and 22W – Purple. With the 0.5 Ohm coil you can select from 10W – White, 11W – Blue, 14W – Red, 16W – Yellow, and 18W – Purple.

If you are not fully satisfied you can also manually override these settings by using the software provided on Evolv website.

The other perks of having an DNA Go Chip inside are their incredible Replay feature to capture the perfect puff and the Boost feature to briefly enhance vapor production.

The device comes with a built-in 950mAh battery. To get a reading on remaining battery life you just need to press once on the adjustments button. When the LED light flashes red you know it’s time to plug it in.

The new Plus pod and coils

The Lost Vape Orion Plus comes with two different coils. The 0.25 Ohm version is a mesh coil and it’s intended to be used for direct lung inhales, while the 0.5 Ohm is a standard coil mainly intended for mouth to lung draws or restrictive lung inhales.

The flavor is top notch on both these coils and it’s really great you can now swap them for a new one whenever they go bad. If we had to pick a favorite then it would definitely be the mesh coil which delivers outstanding flavor and vapor. It also seems to be running for quite some time before needing to be replaced. We refilled the 2.0ml cartridge for seven times and it’s still going strong.

We also like the redesigned see-through cartridge which is perfect for always knowing the level of your e-liquid. The fill port is placed on the top and there’s even an airflow adjustment mechanism just under the mouthpiece.

Performance of the Orion Plus

The Orion Plus vape offers a great overall experience, it’s built to last and features a really great chip inside. We couldn’t find any cons with it, apart from the complicated way of displaying the power depending on the type of coil you are using.

The stabilized wood and resin panels are a thing of beauty and the device performs like a true champ. It’s definitely something we recommend to beginners, intermediates as well as experienced vapers. You won’t be disappointed.
