Joyetech eGo AIO Vape Pen

Probably to comply with the upcoming European regulations, some Chinese manufacturers made a first step in creating contained, child and leak proof devices with a total capacity of 2ml of e-juice and some of them are actually worth checking out. Today we are going to take a closer look at the Joyetech eGo AIO, a very affordable and nice performing pen shaped vaporizer that's perfect for beginners and intermediate vapers.

The name AIO obviously stands for 'All In One' and Joyetech clearly has some experience in this field since they were the first to release such a device a couple of years ago called the eGrip. But the eGo AIO has more in common with the eGo ONE series and the Cubis tank than with the eGrip, and it's clearly a hybrid between the two.

The Joyetech eGo AIO comes packed in a lovely light grey cardboard box and inside you will find the device itself, two 0.6 Ohm Stainless Steel coils, a spare Pyrex glass drip tip, a micro-USB charging cable and a user's manual. And despite being a kit that sells for around $25 it's very well built, the materials used are pretty good and everything works perfectly.

What you get with the ego AIO kit

It comes in five different color options (Silver, Black, Black-Grey, Black-White, and White-Red) and it also has a multi colored LED notification light which you can adjust to your personal liking. When the device is switched off (5 clicks of the button) if you press and hold the fire button it's going to show all the available LED colors and you can cycle between them to pick your favorite (purple, red, indigo, white, blue, green, and yellow). Besides making the eGo vape pen more stylish it's also useful to check out the remaining battery as the light will wave and fade depending on the current charge.

Features of the eGO AIO pen vape

The Joyetech eGo AIO is a very simple device and it's made of four parts – the body (which incorporates the glass section of the tank and the battery), the coil, the top cap (which incorporates the base) and the drip tip. We do get a big rectangular firing button on the middle of the device and a micro-USB charging port on the back. It is powered by an internal 1500mAh battery and it's not regulated. This means the quantity of vapor will gradually diminish as the battery starts to discharge, however due to the design of the coils and the draw, you won't be able to make much difference. The good thing is that the battery works with all of the Cubis coils and also with the RBA section, as long as you don't go lower than 0.5 Ohms.

The device has a child-proof locking system on the top which needs to be pressed if you want to get access to the tank. This is also where the airflow control mechanism is located and you can switch between a tight mouth to lung to a very restrictive direct lung draw. This however is for the provided 0.6 Ohm coils, because if you use a regular 0.5 Ohm Cubis coil and the glass drip tip it's going to be quite loose.

The Joyetech eGo AIO is also a leak proof type of device, and it's very similar to the Cubis. As long as you only fill it with e-liquid up to the max indicator you won't have any problems with this device. It takes around two and a half hours to fully recharge it and the battery is going to last for around 4-5h, depending on the style of vaping.

Performance and thoughts on the eGO AIO kit

To me, this is a perfect beginner's starter kit which delivers great flavor, nice clouds and a good throat hit with 6mg or higher nicotine juices. It's very accessible and it's a clear competitor for the Endura T18 from Innokin. If you're looking for a nice all day mouth to lung vape, then the Joyetech eGo AIO might just be the perfect kit for you. Also it's a nice gift for your smoking friends that might want to make the switch to vaporizers.

Update: October 2018

We have just received for review the eGO AIO 10th year anniversary edition. This device is very similar to the original ego AIO in terms of battery, coils, tank capacity and overall experience.

What changed is the range of colors and overall design. You can get in in various gradient as well as solid colors like black, silver or white.

The new AIO features some pretty nice circuit style lines all over the body and has a better airflow indicator. Now you just have to position the arrow in line with the upper dot for maximum airflow.

The MAX e-liquid indicator is clearly visible now and we highly recommend not filling over the line.

The overall performance is the same, which makes this starter kit ideal for beginners who have just made the switch.
