My experience with the Joyetech Cubis Tank was very pleasant, and considering its price it's certainly a best buy for a beginner or intermediate vaper. While there are some spitting, flooding, and dry hit problems with the sub ohm coils, I definitely enjoyed in mouth to lung mode and rediscovered some of my favorite e-liquids. The flavor is great with the 1.5 ohm Clapton coils and I just heard they released an RBA base for this model, which can be re-coiled and re-wicked so.. a big thumbs up to Joyetech.
Our Review On The Joyetech Cubis Tank
From my experience, up until now only a handful of tanks offered as much versatility as the one I'm going to talk about today. Most of the sub ohm tanks out there are specifically designed for direct lung inhale, while the majority of clearomizers are designed for mouth to lung inhale. We do have some exceptions like the Aspire Triton 2 with its 1.8 Ohm coils and the eGo One with the 1.0 Ohm coils but none of them as innovative as the Joyetech Cubis Tank.
I've been using this tank for the past two weeks, and despite some small cons I have to say it's one great tool for beginners and intermediate vapers. It has this revolutionary way of refilling and it works with three types of coils. It's intended for both mouth to lung vapes and direct lung vapes and it also does temperature control if your mod can handle it.
The Joyetech Cubis Tank comes packed in white cardboard box and inside you'll find the fully assembled unit with the 0.5 Ohm SS coil head mounted inside, a spare 1.0 Ohm SS coil head, a spare 1.5 Ohm coil head (Clapton), a spare plastic drip tip (transparent) and a small user's guide. The great thing about these SS (stainless steel) coil heads is that you can use them in both variable wattage mode and temperature control mode without having to worry about them releasing hazardous substances at high temperatures (with Nickel and Titanium you could only use them in TC mode). The 0.5 Ohm version is definitely intended for direct lung inhales and it does a nice job when it comes to delivering clouds and flavor.
I did get a few almost dry hits with some of my max VG e-liquids, but only at high wattages and they seem to last anywhere between 5 days to around 13 days, depending on your style. The 1.0 Ohm SS version is intended for mouth to lung hits and it does have a much tighter draw. However, when it comes to flavor, the 1.5 Ohm Clapton coils are definitely the best and I really enjoyed the experience. These are made from Kanthal and can only be used in VW mode but they are very good. You can't do direct lung inhales with these and the vapor is a lot cooler, but you can taste all sort of notes in your e-liquids that were muted before.
The coolest thing about the Joyetech Cubis Tank is its innovative design. You no longer have to unscrew the tank from your mod, turn it upside down and refill it or replace the atomizer head. With this product the top cap comes right off with the chimney part and the coil and you can refill it while it sits on your mod. It's very simple to use and it's 99% e-juice spill free.
The tank holds 3.5ml of e-liquid, has a total height of 60mm (with the drip tip on) and a diameter of 22mm. It comes in a variety of colors (black, silver, gray, gold, red, white and cyan) and it uses different coil head designs than on the ONE series. The airflow adjustment mechanism is located on the top side and you do get a very airy draw with the 0.5 Ohm coil.
My experience with the Joyetech Cubis Tank was very pleasant, and considering its price it's certainly a best buy for a beginner or intermediate vaper.
