My overall experience with the Sense Baijiada Mermaid Plus has been a good one, as with all of this company's tanks. This is a great product for both beginners and intermediate vapers looking for an above average sub ohming experience within budget and with coil heads that wick properly and last for days (even weeks). I found my sweet spot at 55W with the airflow almost wide open and the flavor is super intense.
Not long ago I did a review on the Herakles Plus from Sense and I was amazed its performance and innovative top airflow design and today I have for you another sub ohm tank from the same company. It's called the Sense Baijiada Mermaid Plus and the name is as hard to pronounce as it is to spell, but the product itself is a thing of beauty and a very solid performer.
In fact it resembles the Herakles Plus in terms of appearance and design, except for that top airflow mechanism and the extra ml of e-juice it can carry. The Sense Baijiada Mermaid Plus comes packed in a black and orange cardboard box and inside you will find the fully assembled tank (fitted with a 0.6 Ohm coil), a spare Pyrex tube, and a spare 0.4 Ohm coil. It's intended to go in the budget sub ohm tanks category and considering the price tag of $18.95 and what this bad boy offers you're looking at a pretty sweet deal.
The Sense Baijiada Mermaid Plus is available in three different colors – black, silver and rose gold and is made from solid stainless steel and Pyrex glass. It's definitely a step forward from the original Baijiada Mermaid, and it comes with a 3ml e-liquid capacity, top fill design and a juice control mechanism integrated in the base.
It's the type of tank that only uses pre-built atomizer heads and doesn't offer the option of an RBA, however the coils it comes with are pretty impressive and you can also use it with the Herakles Plus atomizers. Both the 0.4 Ohm and the 0.6 Ohm coils can be used at wattages between 35-100W and they deliver great flavor as well as thick and consistent vapor. You can also use this tank in temperature control mode if you buy the 0.2Ohm Ni200 Coil for the Herkles Plus, or, if your mod does TC on stainless steel you can also buy the 0.2Ohm 316L SS coils (which has the advantage of working in VW mode too).
The construction on the Sense Baijiada Mermaid Plus is remarkably solid and the materials used are of the highest quality. Despite it being a budget tank the threads are buttery smooth and everything fits in just perfectly. The juice control mechanism works like a charm and you can easily open all the way or close the wicking ports. This is ideal for when dealing with e-liquids of different thicknesses and when increasing the wattage. The top fill design helps compensate for the 3ml capacity and the slots are very generous.
