In terms of performance the Plato absolutely shines and in my opinion it's one of the best all in one devices money can buy. It's intended for all vaper categories and it can handle both direct lung inhales and mouth to lung inhales flawlessly. I haven't had any issues with it so far and I'm waiting for a new firmware to be released by Aspire (you can upgrade it via the micro-USB cable). Vapor production is stellar, flavor is amazing with both types of coils and it feels so nice in the hand.
To me all in one devices have been hit and miss so far, and the only one that I really enjoyed was probably the original eGrip from Joyetech, but that was a long time ago. Well, today I have a brand new mod that's probably going to appeal to a wide majority of vaper because it's the first that I can truly call an 'All-In-One'. It's able to deliver a very satisfying direct lung draw, and at the same time it can be radically transformed into a mouth to lung type of device with a big tank of e-juice and stellar battery life. It's called the Aspire Plato kit and it comes packed with everything needed for a great vaping experience, so let's check it out.
The Aspire Plato comes packed a lovely black cardboard gift box and inside you will find the device itself, two drip tips (a wide bore version for sub ohming and a regular version for mouth to lung), a 2500mAh 18650 Aspire high drain battery, a 1.8 Ohm coil fitted inside, a spare 0.4 Ohm Cleito style coil, a micro-USB charging cable, two rubber gaskets for your fill ports, a metallic key (used to unscrew the coils), and a user's manual.
The device is small and stylish, especially if you get it in the 'weathered gold' option. Other colors include black, grey, white, blue, pink, lavender, and rose gold. It measures 100 x 50 x 23 mm with the drip tip on and it's very comfortable to use. On the top it has the drip tip connector, and going down the main side we can see the round firing button, the display, the two adjustment buttons, and the micro-USB charging port. On the base we have the airflow adjustment mechanism which is pretty ease to operate and in order to get access to the battery compartment you have to slide the cover by holding the device from its main side and pulling the sides.
This is where you also get access to the fill port and it's were you can see the inside of the tank. To remove the coil you have to remove the drip tip and use the provided tool two unscrew it from the top. In the case of the 1.8 Ohm Nautilus style coil the chimney section is detachable, however in the case of the 0.4 Ohm Cleito style coil it comes as a whole. This means that the coils for the Aspire Plato are going to include the chimney (like the one provided in the kit) and they are quite big in comparison to anything I've seen before. As you remove the coil you can also take apart the tank and clean the Pyrex glass section, a feature that wasn't available on AIO devices until now, so a big thumbs up for Aspire on this one.
With the 0.4 Ohm coil inside the Aspire Plato has a total e-liquid capacity of 4.6ml, and with the 1.8 Ohm coil it can take up to 5.6ml. So you can only imagine the incredible autonomy this device could offer especially if you have an extra 18650 battery lying around the house. Also filling the tank with e-juice is very simple and you also have a small window on the cover to check out the level anytime you like. The airflow adjustment mechanism lets you choose between a tight draw for the Nautilus coils and a very loose draw for the 0.4 Ohm coils. Also don't forget to use the proper drip tip as they have been specially designed for the two different styles of vaping.
The Aspire Plato goes from 1 – 50W in variable wattage mod and from 200°F - 600°F in temperature control mode (however, since there aren't any TC coils available just yet I can't test in TC mode). In regular mode you can choose between regulated and bypass, where bypass is going to make the product behave exactly like a mechanical mod. The Minimum resistances are: 0.1 Ohms in variable wattage mode, 0.2 Ohms in bypass mode and 0.05 Ohms in TC mode (according to the manual).
In terms of performance the Plato absolutely shines and in my opinion it's one of the best all in one devices money can buy. It's intended for all vaper categories and it can handle both direct lung inhales and mouth to lung inhales flawlessly.
