What's in the Orbit's box
VaporFi's Orbit comes packed in a white and green cardboard box and inside you are going to find, besides the device itself, a USB charging cable (it doesn't come with a wall adapter, but you can plug it in your computer or laptop), a cleaning brush, 5 mesh screens, 5 silicone tips, 2 mouthpieces and a user's manual. The first thing you'll notice about the Orbit is it's futuristic design and build quality. It feels great in the hand it only comes with one button for both powering the device on and off and changing the temperatures. The charging port is located at the bottom and the provided USB cable is quite long.
I do recommend you read the manual before using the VaporFi Orbit because it presents detailed information about temperatures and maintenance. To power the device on or off you simply need to press the button five consecutive times and notice the glowing LED lights. It has three preset individual power settings – low / medium / and high and you can scroll through these by keeping the button pressed for three seconds.
Power settings
The first power setting is 360°F (180°C) and it's characteristic with the orange glowing LED light. The medium power setting is 380°F (195°C) and it's characteristic with the green glowing LED light. Lastly we have the high power setting, which is 420°F (215°C) and this one is characteristic with the blue glowing LED light. Depending on the type of dry herb or mixture you are using, you can select each one of these settings and it takes the device up to a minute to reach the first value. Then it varies between 10-20s to heat from low to medium or from medium to high.
The VaporFi Orbit is powered by an internal 2,200mah battery which can last, depending on the power setting you are using, anywhere between 1h15m and 2h10m. By using an 1A wall adapter I was able to fully recharge the battery in 2h45m, so the autonomy is more than great. The included silicone tips are for when you're using the device at the highest temperature for extended periods of time. This is when the mouthpiece tends to get hot and becomes uncomfortable for the lips.
The vaporizing chamber is located just under the mouth piece and on the bottom of the mouthpiece there's the mesh filter that needs to be replaced once every 4-5 uses. The chamber has a volume of 1.7ml and it's only designed to work with dry herbs (be careful not to put e-liquids or essential oils inside as this can ruin your device for good).
Maintenance
After each session you will need to clean the chamber with the supplied brush as residue can affect the long term functionality of the device. Overall my experience with the VaporFi Orbit was a very pleasant one and I mostly used it at the medium and high power settings. The taste is very good and it produces a decent quantity of vapor.
