Smaller than its predecessor and with a fully adjustable oven, the DaVinci MIQRO vaporizer is definitely one of the sleekest products of 2018. The device uses the same Smart Paths feature as well as precise temperature control. It’s easy to operate, ultra-portable and great for fast solo sessions. The MIQRO is also delivers pretty impressive vapor and flavor from such a tiny device.

Top of the line packaging and accessories for the MIQRO
As you might expect, the DaVinci MIQRO portable vaporizer comes neatly packed. Our Explorer Collection includes the device itself, a herb grinder as well as a carrying case for the battery. Inside the box there’s also a micro-USB cable for charging, a pouch, cleaning tools, a regular mouthpiece, spare parts and an extra packing tool.
Available colors are: Amethyst, Rust, Cobalt, Graphite, and Onyx. The finish is a beautiful anodized aluminum, that looks amazing from anywhere you stand.
A familiar design but in a smaller form factor
Right from the start it’s pretty clear that the DaVinci MIQRO vape is very similar to the IQ. It has the same design, same LED-based display and same removable battery operation. The only thing that is different - design-wise - is the form factor.
The MIQRO is a conduction vaporizer that measures 80mm x 34mm x 23mm and weighs 100g. On the top side we have the detachable mouthpiece. Out of the box the vaporizer comes with the flat mouthpiece, but you can easily swap it with the regular one. Below we can see the Zirconia air path, which is also detachable for easy cleaning. There’s also the battery door, which has a nice hinged mechanism for fast access.
The oven is placed on the bottom and there’s an adjustable Zirconia pearl on the door. This helps tightly pack the dry herb material and allows the use of the device with the ceramic chamber half full.
On the side there are three buttons. One is for powering the device on or off and for switching between modes, while the other two are for incremental adjustments.
Two operating modes for the DaVinci MIQRO
The DaVinci MIQRO herb vaporizer has two operating modes. You can use it in Smarh Path mode or in precise temperature adjustment mode.
In Smart Path mode the whole session is predefined from start to finish. Here the device will use one temperature for the first couple of minutes and then increase it for the last part of the sesh.
There are four presets to choose from. First one uses 350F - 370F temperatures. Second one starts at 370F and ends at 390F. Third is between 390F and 410F. And last we have the fourth Smart Path which starts at 410F and ends at 430F.
One thing you need to keep in mind is that the MIQRO dry herb vape runs a much cooler oven than other similar devices. The vapor we got using the highest Smart Path was not as hot or as harsh as we expected. As a matter of fact this was our favorite and produced the best results in terms of flavor.
Another way to use the device is in temperature adjustment mode. Here you can adjust the temperature degree by degree when pressing the side buttons. It takes some time to get used to since the display only shows the last digit of the temperature value.
Heat up times and battery life
It takes anywhere between 39s - 45s for the DaVinci MIQRO vaporizer to reach the selected temperature. An animation will be showed on the display during this process and a small vibration will let you know the device is ready to vape.
Battery life on the other hand is not that great.
The vaporizer takes one 18350 cell and offers around 30 minutes of use on a single charge. When you recharge the battery inside the device the whole process lasts around 2 hours. This is why we recommend a desktop charger and at least one more battery to use as spare. It’s much faster and way more convenient.
The DaVinci MIQRO vs DaVinci IQ
The MIQRO is an impressive vaporizer but it can’t compare with its bigger brother, the DaVinci IQ . The similarities between these two products are mostly visual. In terms of performance, the story is very different.
The MIQRO vape is mostly indented for solo sessions and it has an ultra-portable design. It offers good vapor quality and a nice overall experience but it’s not a product meant for heavy users.
The DaVinci IQ on the other hand is a total beast of a vaporizer. It’s powered by a much bigger battery, it has better heat up times and the flavor and vapor are a lot more potent. This device can be shared with friends and it’s excellent for extended sessions. The display is much bigger 51 LEDs vs only 15 LEDs on the MIQRO and comes with Bluetooth and a dedicated smartphone app.
Performance and final thoughts on the MIQRO
The DaVinci MIQRO vaporizer is an impressive product considering its size. It delivers good vapor and the flavor is incredible due to the Zirconia ceramic air path. There are two operating modes to choose from and the interface is very intuitive. We didn't encounter any issues during our tests and it’s a device we definitely recommend to beginners and intermediate vapers. It’s one of the stealthiest and most reliable products in this category.
Unfortunately there are a few cons with it. The most important is the size of the oven. We managed to get a maximum of 0.25g inside and that’s not even close to the IQ. Also, the best results we got were when we used slightly less herb than a full chamber. It’s great that the oven pearl is adjustable but size-wise we were not impressed.
Another con is battery life and the use of 18350 cells. We get why they decided to use them, but you will definitely need to carry extras if you plan to enjoy a few good sessions.
Other than that it’s a really great herb vape for up to 10-draw sessions, that’s ultra-portable and easy to use.
