Design and features of the WASP vape pen

This MigVapor vape pen for waxes has to be one of the nicest looking pen style vaporizers out there. It has a nice green tinted polycarbonate tank as well as matching green LED notification lights on the base and fire button. The build quality is very good and the device fits the palm of your hand so naturally. It's coated with a scratch resistant finish and the glass mouthpiece is a big pro. The mouthpiece is also cut at an angle to give it that futuristic look and the PC tank is easily detachable for cleaning purposes.

The battery has a total capacity of 900mAh and this is enough for at least 10 full sessions. This is way better than most of wax pens we've reviewed in the past and it's charged via an eGo style USB adapter. The whole process takes anywhere between 1 – 2h and you will be notified by a green light when it reaches 100%.

How it works

Five clicks turn the device on or off and there's a notification LED light just under the fire button for visual confirmation. The LED also lights up during use, together with a similar light on the base of the battery.

There is a single preset on the WASP vaporizer and this ensures a vaping temperature of around 400 – 455F. Heat up time is about 2 – 3 seconds and the overall experience is pretty intense.

The revolutionary carborundum coil

The MigVapor WASP uses a revolutionary material called carborundum for its coils. This has great acid slag resistance, good oxidation resistance, and does not melt or decompose. It has high conductivity, low thermal expansion and ensures consistent performance all throughout the session.

The carborundum dual coils are surrounded in stainless steel wire and the heating chamber is made from ceramic. The combination delivers very pure flavor with no aftertaste and allows for super-fast heat up times.

Spare carborundum coils can be purchased from the MigVapor website for $9.95. Just make sure to get the chamber in the same color as the battery.

MigVapor WASP: Performance and conclusions

The MigVapor WASP pen is a very affordable and easy to use concentrates vaporizer fitted with dual carborundum coils. It has a cool design, with a green tinted PC tank and boasts super-fast heat up times. It's highly portable, simple and efficient, just like the Saber concentrates pen.

The 900mAh matches this pen's performance and it ensures great autonomy between charges. We're not big fans of the eGo style adapter and the PC material used for the tank, but all in all it's a very good vaporizer which does an excellent job.
