When it comes to pod vaporizers the Jwell La Carte has to be one of the most innovative in terms of charging. It's the first pod vape device we tested to have a USB type C port and features lightning fast 2A current. Considering the tiny podmod is powered by a 400mAh internal cell, it means you can have it fully charged it in just under 20 minutes.

What's in the La Carte box?
The Jwell La Carte pod vape comes packed in a nice black cardboard box. Inside you will find the device itself, a pod, a USB to USB-C cable, a leather case for the mod and the user manual. Available colors are White, Stainless Steel, and Black.
Some very familiar design elements
Design-wise the Jwell La Carte pod system looks rather familiar. It's similar to a Suorin Air vaporizer, but slightly smaller and just a bit thicker. It measures 80mm x 46mm x 9mm and even has an on/off switch on the back. The mouthpiece is also placed in the corner of the device and it's integrated in the pod. Has that same credit card look and will easily fit inside any pocket.
The Jwell La Carte is powered by a 400mAh internal battery. This ensures a couple of hours of vape time, and we do recommend using nicotine salts. This way you rarely feel the need to take a puff and it will greatly increase autonomy.
On the front side we have an LED notification light which also acts as the battery indicator. Green means the battery is fully charged, white is halfway and red means it's time to plug it in. With a good 2A wall adapter and the provided USB-C cable, the whole process doesn't take more than 20 minutes.
The refillable Jwell pod
The Jwell La Carte pods might seem big at first, since they are the same height as the battery but they only hold 2.0ml of e-liquid. They have a rubber gasket covering the juice port and the refill process is pretty straightforward. The connectors between the pod and the device are magnetic and this makes them slide in quite easily.
Just like popular JUUL Pods, the dedicated La Carte pod activates on draw and its sensor is highly accurate. A tip I would like to give as I'm writing this review; To prevent the device from activating automatically - Make sure to use the on/off switch on the back of the device.
A draw on the LaCarte feels tight, but not as tight as on smaller pod vaporizers. It's clearly intended to be used in mouth to lung mode, but you could also direct lung it from time to time. Usually cotton keeps up quite well with 50/50 VG/PG mixes, just make sure not to chain vape it.
Performance and final words on the La Carte from Jwell
When it comes to performance the Jwell La Carte pod vape is one of the better pod devices I reviewed so far. Flavor and vapor are above expectation and the draw is smooth and consistent. Although I was expecting it. We did not get any dry hits on the vape. The draw – while a bit loose – it was still pretty satisfying.
This is definitely the only pod system we know so far that has super speedy charging capabilities. When comparing to similar vapes, you will really see a difference. The only thing you need for this to work is a 2A wall adapter. On standard USB ports the whole process takes around 40 minutes to complete.
The leather case you get with the kit is also a big pro and it will keep your device from getting scratched. It also makes it more fashionable and easy to carry around if that's your thing.
