We have reviewed several top of the lines dry herb vaporizers these last few months, and today we are going to talk about one of the most efficient. The Firefly 2 Vaporizer is designed to work with small amounts of ground herbs but it does an excellent job at extracting all of the flavor and essential oils. It's not a device intended for shared sessions, but the performance is going to sweep you off your feet.
A futuristic herb vape that offers some high-end features
We didn't get the chance to test the initial Firefly, however we've been told the current version is a 
massive improvement. It's a device that's probably in the same class as the DRAY vaporizer, but with a different approach when it comes to the convection process.
The Firefly 2 Vaporizer comes packed in lovely black cardboard gift box and inside you get a variety of accessories. Besides the device itself there are two rechargeable batteries, a charging dock and USB cable, a cleaning kit and three 3 mesh pads to use with concentrates. The mouthpiece is completely detachable and that's also where the screen is located for convenient cleaning.
The flawless build quality of the FireFly 2
The build quality on the Firefly 2 Vaporizer is flawless. It's clear the manufacturer used only premium materials and the attention to details is fantastic. It looks and feels like a luxury product and the finish is outstanding. Hands down, one of the most beautiful personal vaporizers on the market today.
It definitely feels like something from the future, especially when you take of the magnetic top cap to fill the chamber. It has this unique air path within the vaporizer, where the vapor is being cooled down by the borosilicate glass walls as it travels from the fins in the back to the mouthpiece. We've never seen anything like this before, and the results are stellar in terms of flavor and vapor production.
Amazing heat up time - Reaching ideal temperature in only 5 seconds
The big pro with the Firefly 2 Vaporizer is that it's a heat on demand type device that comes to temperature in a matter of seconds. You simply place your finger on the touch sensor and it reaches 400F in 5 seconds. It's a vaporizer intended for slow long draws and we would recommend at least 10s pulls from it. The vapor is smooth and chilled by the borosilicate glass pathway and the whole experience is top notch. There's also a dedicated smartphone app to give you more control over the temperature and settings.
Battery life and conclusions
The rechargeable batteries are 7.4V Li-Ion cells that look similar to the ones from my DSLR camera. You get about 5 – 6 sessions out of a full battery and it only takes 45 minutes to recharge. Due to the way the dock has been designed it's impossible to vape while it's charging, and it's probably why you get two batteries inside the box. We would recommend charging them both when not using the device just to have them ready for the next session.
