The Vandy Vape Kensei is the first RTA we tested in 2018 and we're really impressed with the overall performance. This 2ml/4ml champ has one of the best build decks out there and the airflow is super smooth. Comes with a juice flow control mechanism, however the RTA doesn't leak even when you fill it up with the slots wide open.

We're really big fans of the design and the resin drip tips are absolutely fantastic. We would like to see more and more manufacturers using this style drip tips because not only do they look great but they also feel very comfortable on the lips.
What you get in the Kensei box
The Vandy Vape Kensei comes packed in a transparent acrylic presentation box. Inside you will find the RTA itself, a 4ml bulb style glass tube, a Delrin drip tip, and a bag of accessories and spare parts. Besides the usual seals, screws, screwdrivers and keys you also get a tool to remove the glass section more easily.
Main features of the Kensei RTA
The RTA has a diameter of 24mm and it's built from top quality 303 stainless steel. Feels durable and the design is really nice. It comes with 18.5mm wide bore 810 resin drip tip as well as with an 18mm 810 Delrin drip tip. The tank has a serial number etched on the bottom and the 510 connector is gold plated.
Top cap on the Vandy Vape Kensei comes off quite easily and you have good access to the fill ports. The deck is also gold plated and has a very interesting design. The dual posts are staggered and this makes it much easier to work with beefy coils. It uses Philips head screws and these allow for a very nice grip. Airflow slots have a honeycomb design and deliver a very smooth overall experience.
The 4ml bulb glass is a huge pro
With the RTA you also get a nice 4ml expansion glass tube. This doubles the e-liquid capacity and gives the tank a really nice look. The initial 2ml are nowhere near enough, considering in dual coil mode this bad boy goes through ejuice like a warm knife through butter. Vandy Vape probably did this to comply with TPD law and shipped the device without the bulb glass tube in the EU.
Kensei RTA: Performance and final words
Performance wise, the Vandy Vape Kensei is a very good RTA. It's well built, well designed and the 4ml capacity is reasonable for a tank this size. Airflow is great, the resin mouthpiece is a big pro and flavor is really impressive. We did have some issues with the juice flow control when it became stuck a couple of times, but nothing too serious. All in all a truly great product, reasonably priced and perfect for beginners and intermediate vapers. You can fit any type of coil inside and it's so easy to wick. It makes a perfect combo with the VooPoo Too mod!
