However, even though these devices can do wonders for those who want to quit their nasty smoking habit, they are not intended for everyone especially kids and pets. You have probably heard about cases of nicotine poisoning in children and animals and this usually happens when they get in contact with e-liquid. Nicotine is a substance that gets absorbed through the skin and while for adults this does not pose a real threat, children have a reduced bodyweight and even a small amount can be perilous.
This is why, as a responsible adult, you should always store your e-cigarette and accessories well hidden when leaving the house or the room, because both kids and pets are curious by nature and you don’t want them in contact with these devices. In addition, children tend to mimic what they see on adults and you do not want to catch your son or nephew to puffing on your e-cig.
There are plenty of spots outside play’s reach in your bedroom or living room and you should always keep potentially harmful substances and accessories away from their curious eyes. A locked closet or drawer is probably the best spot to keep your ecig because they can only be opened by key. Inside a pillowcase or on top of a bookshelf are also good places to keep your device.
The worst possible places are in reach and low to the ground. You definitely want it in a position that is unreachable to a child even on a step stool. Also, never put it in the freezer. The first reason for this is it will ruin your e-cigarette. Secondly, when you hide things, the freezer is a place that people may think to look.
Your car, even though out of the reach of children, is a bad place to store your e-cigarettes. During winter, e-liquid may clog the atomizer; and during summer the temperatures can get very hot leading to your device malfunctioning.
Just as any valuables including money or your grandmother’s special ring, do not put your electronic cigarette, cartridges or e-liquid bottles hidden behind pictures or vases. This is a place people would look first!
The last place you do not want to hide your ecig in is a special container that would draw people’s attention. You do not want the kids to stare daily at the nice box and wonder what sort of heavenly wonders you keep inside.
